Today & Co. is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information when you use the Today & Co. mobile application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information Stored Locally on Your Device
The following information is stored only on your device and never transmitted to our servers:
- Favorited Activities - The list of activities you have marked as favorites
- Your Personal Ratings - A local copy of your star ratings for activities
This data remains private on your device. If you delete the app or clear app data, this information will be permanently removed.
1.2 Information We Collect and Store
We collect and store the following information on our servers:
- Star Ratings - When you rate an activity, we collect your rating (1-5 stars), the activity ID, and a device identifier
- Device Identifier - We generate a random, pseudonymous device identifier that does not contain your name, email address, or other direct identifiers. This identifier is used solely to prevent duplicate ratings and cannot be used by us to directly identify you.
- Usage Analytics - We collect standard app usage data through Firebase Analytics (app opens, screen views, crash reports). We do not use Firebase Analytics for advertising, marketing, or tracking users across other companies' apps or websites.
Important: Today & Co. does not require user accounts. All ratings are submitted without user accounts or direct personal identifiers and are associated only with a pseudonymous device identifier. We cannot identify you personally from this information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- Community Ratings - To calculate and display aggregate star ratings for activities
- Preventing Duplicate Ratings - To ensure each device can rate an activity only once
- App Improvement - To understand how users interact with the app and identify areas for improvement
- Technical Support - To diagnose and fix technical issues and crashes
3. Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell, trade, or rent your information to third parties. Your information may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service Providers - We use Firebase (Google) to host our database and analytics. These services operate under their own privacy policies
- Legal Requirements - We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights
- Aggregate Data - We may share anonymized, aggregate statistics that cannot identify individual users
4. Third-Party Services
Today & Co. uses the following third-party services:
- Firebase/Firestore (Google) - Cloud database for activity data and ratings
- Firebase Analytics (Google) - App usage analytics and crash reporting

5. Children's Privacy
Today & Co. is not intended for children to use directly. The app does not offer user accounts, profiles, chat features, or any functionality that would allow a child to submit personal information. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us immediately.
6. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. The limited and pseudonymous nature of our data collection (no user accounts, only device identifiers) provides an additional layer of privacy protection.
7. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your information:
- Delete Local Data - You can delete the app to remove all locally stored favorites and personal ratings
- Delete Ratings - You can submit a new rating to update your previous rating for any activity
- Data Deletion Request - Because we do not maintain user accounts, deletion requests may require the device identifier associated with the ratings. If we cannot reasonably verify the request, we may be unable to locate the data.
- Additional Rights - Depending on your location, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information. If you would like to exercise these rights, please contact us using the information below.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
